A small college in Indiana that stopped playing the national anthem at sporting events will now play "America the Beautiful" instead. Goshen College says "America the Beautiful" is a better fit with the pacifist beliefs and traditions of the school which is affiliated with the Mennonite Church. Some students and graduates oppose the playing of the "Star Spangled Banner" because it references using war to defend the country. The school president says "America the Beautiful" is an appropriate alternative because it honors the country and most sports fans know the words.
