Roads closed, traffic gridlocked as storms pass through Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - As severe weather passes over Baton Rouge, drivers traveling on the interstates can expect to have serious traffic delays.
DOTD officials say a stalled tractor trailer blocked the left lane on I-10 west on the Mississippi River Bridge. Congestion from that incident backed up traffic to College Drive.
The right lane on I-12 West was blocked near Essen Lane due to a vehicle recovery. DOTD says all lanes are open on I-12 at that location, but congestion reached Airline Highway.
Congestion remains on I-10 East from Highland Road to LA 73 (Prairievlle) due to an accident off the roadway at MM169 and inclement weather.
