COVINGTON - St. Tammany Parish authorities have made an arrest in the shooting deaths of a 2-year-old girl and a man, believed to be her father.

The little girl's mother found the victims Monday in a home near Abita Springs.

Jacob Middleton Jr. was arrested after he admitted to shooting his father and his half-sister.

Middleton said he shot them because of  his hatred of his father for what he claimed was years of abuse and family violence.

Middleton is booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on two counts of 1st degree murder.

He is being held without bond.
