St. Tammany authorities seek suspect in apartment arson case
SLIDELL - St. Tammany Parish authorities are searching for a 58-year-old man wanted in connection with a fire last week that destroyed an apartment complex near Slidell
In a news release Monday, Sheriff Jack Strain says an arrest warrant has been issued for David Rutledge for one count of aggravated arson and 10 counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Detectives along with fire investigators from St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1, the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives have determined that the blaze was deliberately set.
Rutledge's whereabouts are unknown at this time. He is known to drive a 2014 black Nissan Altima with a Louisiana license plate, YQL 829. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the sheriff's office.
