St. Peter's display
VATICAN CITY- Relics believed to be those of St. Peter will be put on display at the Vatican later this month.
St. Peter was the first Pope and this will be the first time the relics will be shown to the public.
Pope Francis will celebrate a mass after a ceremony to mark the end of the church's "Year of Faith" activities and the relics will be part of the ceremony.
Details on the relics are supposed to be released next week. Leaders of the church say "tradition recognizes" the relics are those of Peter.
The items were found in a chamber under St. Peter's Basilica, excavated in the mid-20th century.
