St. Mary Parish deputies identify person of interest in phone theft
BAYOU VISTA - St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are looking to identify a person of interest wanted in connection with the theft of a phone last month.
Investigators say a Bayou Vista Walmart customer left her phone at one of the self check-out registers on the day after Thanksgiving at around 8:30 p.m. When she retraced her steps to track down the phone, she found it was gone.
Deputies reviewed surveillance footage and were able to locate the person who may have taken the phone. The victim told investigators the phone, described as a Galaxy Note 3 in a light blue and purple OtterBox brand case, contains irreplaceable photos of her grandfather who is now deceased.
