St. Mary men arrested after chase, had kids in car
AMELIA - Police on Tuesday night arrested two men after a brief chase on Highway 182.
Law enforcement said they observed a speeding SUV run a red light then failed to pull over when a traffic stop was initiated. There was a brief chase as the vehicle raced towards Siracusaville.
Authorities said the driver, 19-year-old Bryson Skinner of Morgan City, resisted officers but was apprehended. Investigators said they also found two toddlers in the vehicle without proper restraints.
Skinner was arrested and faces a total of seven charges including two counts of failure to restrain children, resisting an officer, and driving with a suspended license.
Passenger Terrell Poole, 23, was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Police transported Skinner and Poole to the St. Mary Parish jail.
