BATON ROUGE – Saint Joseph Cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge will hold mass for All Saints Day on Tuesday along with a blessing of the graves ceremonies.

Mass will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at noon, and following Father Paul Counce will bless the graves of the deceased bishops of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, located on the grounds of St. Joseph Cathedral on 412 North Street.

At 4 p.m., Father Counce will also bless the graves in St. Joseph Cemetery, established in 1825, located at 1500 Main Street.

Later at 7 p.m., another blessing of the graves ceremony will take place in Highland Cemetery, located on Oxford Avenue off of Highland Road just south of the LSU gates. Highland Cemetery was founded in 1813 as a private cemetery and its ownership transferred to St. Joseph Cathedral in 1819.

The general public, especially families and friends of those buried in the cemeteries, are invited to participate.
