Spring Fling Festival this weekend at French Settlement High School
FRENCH SETTLEMENT - The Spring Fling Festival and Craft show is this Saturday at French Settlement High School.
All proceeds will benefit the high school's technology fund. Both students and administrators agree that this event is important for the school.
"We want to expand our technology," said Lauren Boudoin, a student at French Settlement High School. "This fund helps us to have more laptops and other things we don't currently have."
Vice Principal Lee Hawkins says it is vital for the education students will receive.
"The landscape of education changes everyday," he explained, "Our teachers do well with what they have, but we want to give them the most resources we can to provide the best education possible."
The festival will feature many different events. It all starts with the 1st annual Rumble in the Jungle 5K at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning. There are also food vendors, between 50-75 craft booths, and kids can play all day for just $10.00. One of the events organizer Willie Louviere is most excited about is the antique car show.
"If you have an antique car, come out and you can register your antique car on the spot at 10:00 a.m.", Louviere explained.
