The Woodlawn Panther high school football team is starting new, they have a new head coach in Daniel Luquet and are also dropping down to a new classification, heading from 5A ball to 4A ball.

The Panthers are also breaking in new players, on defense and at the quarterback position.

Luquet moves over from his offensive coordinator role taking over the head spot from the departed Brett Beard who is off to be the head coach at Live Oak.

Jamari Nelson is the heir apparent to replace three year starter Charles Brooks at quarterback, and Javin Myers will join him in the backfield as a junior tailback.

Defensively only three players are back from last years 6-5 team that bowed out in the first round to Denham Springs.
