Sports 2-A-Days: Zachary Broncos
ZACHARY - The Zachary High football team is coming off one of their best seasons in program history, and with a veteran group returning for 2015, the Broncos appear poised to have another great season this year.
The Broncos return 16 starters (8 offense, 8 defense) from a team that went 12-2 last season, including starting quarterback Lindsey Scott.
Scott ran the offense last year as a junior and took the Broncos all the way to the 5A state semifinals, and doesn't mind the pressure of trying to follow that up with another great season this year.
"I've been playing this game since I was 2-3 years old," Scott said.
"So there's never going to be pressure, because it's something that I do and something that I love. People are always going to talk, positive and negative. Hearing things about this kid might be the best player in the area, and hearing things about I'm too small. They both motivate me a lot. Hearing negative things make me want to prove all the doubters wrong, hearing positive things make me want to keep the people that are on my boat happy."
