Sports 2-A-Days: St. Amant
ST. AMANT - The St. Amant football team was 8 points away from a perfect regular season in 2013: Gators head coach David Oliver is determined to cover that difference with a veteran team in 2014.
"A football game usually comes down to three plays and if you make em you win and if you miss 'em you lose so, our big goal this year is to find those three plays," Oliver said.
The Gators return every skill player on offense, including starting quarterback Tyler Dixon, but will need to replace three starters on the line.
On defense, St. Amant is deepest in the secondary, but with 6 starters back, its a group that has enough experience for Oliver to feel excited about his prospects this year.
"Last year we led the league in heartbreaks," Oliver said. "We're expecting a lot from the Gators this year."
