Spit in drink charge dropped
A worker at a McDonald's in South Carolina is cleared of a charge that he spit into two customers' cups of iced tea. A judge dropped the case against 19-year-old Marvin Washington when his lawyer raised doubt about what was in the drinks. Investigators said surveillance video showed Washington leaning over the cups before he filled them and customers discovered phlegm when they removed the lids to put more sugar in. Washington's lawyer contended the tea was poured out, so it wasn't clear what the substance was.Washington could have faced 20-years for malicious tampering.
