Sovereign citizens police plot
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA- A 67-year-old woman said nothing at her bail hearing in a plot to kill police in Las Vegas to advance an anti-authority sovereign citizens movement. Bail for Devon Campbell Newman is set at $200,000. Last week, Newman told the judge she didn't hurt anyone and wanted to be freed as she waits for a preliminary hearing next month. She and co-defendant David Brutsche also told the judge that they don't recognize his authority to keep them locked up. Brutsche's bail is set at $600,000. Authorities say an undercover officer spent four-months with the pair collecting evidence of what was called a domestic terror operation.
