Southern University Police are using surveillance video and fingerprints to track down vandals who damaged a bathroom and locker room at Mumford Stadium.
Investigators say the vandals destroyed a newly renovated women's bathroom. Damage included a shattered sink, broken soap dispensers, and several stall doors. The vandals also sprayed a fire extinguisher across the visitor's locker room. Investigators say a concession stand was also damaged.
Officials are not sure how the vandals got into the stadium Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. University leaders are upset because they just finished a huge project to renovate and upgrade the stadium.
"The fans asked us for better facilities," said Ed Pratt, a university spokesman. "We provided the facilities. And before we can even have our second home game, someone does this."
Crews cleaned up the visitor's locker room. They are also working to repair the bathroom before tomorrow's home game.
