Southern wins SWAC championship over Prairie View 45-44

The Southern Jaguars have won the SWAC championship game defeating Prairie View A&M 45-44. The win gives the Jags the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. It will be the school's first appearance in the tournament since 2006. Derick Beltran led the Jags with a team high 13 points.
