Southern urges homecoming fans to arrive early
BATON ROUGE - Police at Southern University urge fans to arrive three to four hours early for their homecoming matchup between the Jaguars and the Alcorn State Braves at 5:30 p.m.
Campus officials expect the game to attract more than 20,000 people, with thousands more who will just be tailgating.
Peak traffic is expected to be before mid-afternoon. Southern Police plan to use contraflow going into and out A.W. Mumford Stadium.
Areas on Isabel Herson Drive near the Southern Lab School will be available for parking with a $10 fee.
Bus parking will cost $200 for anyone who isn't a Southern alumni or in a booster club.
