A Chinese delegation, including executives from Broad International, will visit Southern University Wednesday. The company proposes building a facility on Southern's campus to produce electricity for all buildings.
Broad wants to build similar facilities on more than 100 historically-black college and university campuses. Southern would be the first.
This project could be the first product of Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden's business visit to China in April. Holden met with Broad officials during his trip. When he returned, he said Broad made a tentative agreement to build in Baton Rouge.
More details are expected Wednesday morning.
