Southern's Doggett earns SWAC honor

BATON ROUGE - For the second time this season, Southern University senior forward Quinton Doggett has been named SWAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. This time for games played Saturday, January 21 and Monday, January 23.

The 6-7 native of Richmond, Va. led the Jaguars to a sweep of Alabama A&M and Alabama State over the weekend by averaging 19.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 5.0 blocked shots per game. He also shot nearly 65 percent from the field.

The Jags currently sit alone in second place in the SWAC at 6-2.
