Southern overpowered by McNeese 13-15
BATON ROUGE - The last couple times Southern and McNeese have got together on the baseball diamond, it's been close contest. Two of those games decided by one run. The other, a walkoff grand slam by MSU.
The game Wednesday between the Jaguars and Cowboys, not so close.
McNeese stringing 16 hits together to defeat Southern 13-5.
Pokes' shortstop Connor Lloyd having a career day, batting 4-5 with a double, triple and 5 RBI. Southern falls to 13-22 while McNeese advances to 25-20.
The Jags will hit the road this weekend for their last SWAC series of the year, against Grambling. The series begins Saturday with a doubleheader that starts at noon.
