BATON ROUGE - With SWAC conference rival Grambling State in the house and the biggest attendence of the season, the Southern Jaguars didn't disappoint, sweeping the Tigers out of the F.G. Clark Activity Center Saturday night.

The men's team beat the Tigers 58-50, withstanding "Grambling's best punch," according to Jaguars head coach Roman Banks.

Keith Davis led the team with 16 points, and Southern improved to 8-2 in conference play, while the Tigers fell to 0-10.

The women's game was not as close.

The Lady Jaguars trailed early, but tied the game at 11 and moved comfortably ahead by halftime en route to an 80-52 win.

The Lady Jaguars have now reeled off 7 straight wins: the last loss came against Grambling State on January 10.
