Madison Prep takes down Southern Lab, Baker at Corey Webster Foundation Classic
Baton Rouge - Brothers faced off in one game and rivals faced off in another, but Madison Prep prevailed in both as they took the Corey Webster Foundation Classic with two 1 quarter jamboree wins on Saturday night at Olympia Stadium.
The night began with Madison Prep beating Baker 22-8 in the first quarter: the Chargers reeled off 15 unanswered points after falling behind 8-7.
In the second quarter, Southern Lab scored on their opening drive to score the only points of the contest, as the Kittens held off the Buffaloes 8-0 and Marcus Randall got a win over older brother Eric.
The finale held some late quarter-drama, as Madison Prep fumbled with goal-to-go and less than 2 minutes remaining in the quarter, but the Chargers still prevailed with a 10-8 win over the Kittens.
