BATON ROUGE - The Southern Jaguars officially kicked off their 2012 fall camp practices this morning, entering year three of the Stump Mitchell era.
The Jags went 4-7 last year following a 2-9 campaign in 2010. Mitchell enters the final year of his contract and needs a winning season to keep his job.
Quarterbacks Dray Joseph and J.P. Douglas continue their competition for the starting role. Mitchell has said that he expects one QB to play the majority of the season.
Southern kicks off the year at New Mexico on September 1st. Watch WBRZ Sports 2 for more on the Jaguars.
