Southern hosts IBM recruiters
BATON ROUGE - Southern University is getting their students a head start in the workforce.
The school is fostering a relationship with The International Business Machines corporation (IBM) to get their students jobs and internships.
IBM recruiters met with Southern students Wednesday to accept resumes and conduct interviews. The goal was to potentially hire new employees and place students in internship programs.
Joslyn Allen, a graduating senior, already landed a job with the company after she graduates in May.
"Once everything actually falls into place, it's like... a sigh of relief," Allen said.
Allen visited with recruiters when they came to the school last year in the fall.
"It gives you ample opportunities to talk to various companies. And recruiters talk to you like they're a regular person like you," said Allen.
More information for IBM job-seekers can be found on their recruiting website.
