BATON ROUGE - Southern University will open conference play tonight in Baton Rouge and on ESPNU.

The Jaguars are playing host Mississippi Valley State for the home opener. Southern is coming off a 66-21 loss against New Mexico.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at A. W. Mumford Stadium.

Sports 2 will be live tonight with previews of the matchup.
