Southern hopes to play spoiler against Alabama State

The Southern Jaguars already know their fate. At 2-7, the Jags are guaranteed a last place finish in the Western Division of the SWAC.

Yet despite a 54-7 loss to Texas Southern last week, Stump Mitchell's team can still play the role of spoiler this weekend. Southern takes on Alabama State, a team that could very well play in the SWAC Championship game in December.

It's also senior day for the Southern Jags, as 18 seniors will be honored prior to tomorrow's contest. Kickoff is set for 5:30 at Mumford Stadium.
