Southern hoops tops Alabama St. 68-55, remains atop SWAC
The Southern Jaguars left no doubt who the top team in the SWAC was on Monday night as they beat Alabama St. 68-55 at the Clark Center.
Coach Roman Banks and his SU team remain atop the SWAC standings with the win improving to 7-1 in conference play further distancing their lead to a game and a half in the mens standings.
The Hornets were the second place team in the conference heading into the game.
Southern was paced by Malcolm Miller who had 18 points and connected on four three pointers. Big man Calvin Godfrey posted a double double before fouling out of the game with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Southern hosts Alcorn this weekend at the Clark Center on Saturday.
