Southern, Grambling fans encounter Bayou Classic traffic on I-10
LAPLACE - Traffic slowed across the Bonnet Carre Spillway as Southern and Grambling fans drove into New Orleans.
All day, state traffic monitors warned of slowdowns to New Orleans. The Bayou Classic is Saturday.
Ten-mile long traffic jams were causing heavy delays on I-10 between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Fans will encounter similar issues Sunday on the trip home as the Sunday after Thanksgiving is a notoriously bad day of traffic in Baton Rouge. Police announced Friday they'll have extra officers on the highways to try to help things move along.
