BATON ROUGE - A Southern University custodian has been booked on accusations he stole several laptop computers and projectors from the university.

31-year-old Brandon D. Square faces three counts of burglary and two counts of theft.

Southern University Police Chief Ronald Stevens said investigators zeroed in on Square after concluding an employee was responsible for the string of thefts.

Stevens says one of the burglaries occurred last week at the registrar's office at T.H. Harris Hall.

Workers had been trying to set the office alarm when they noticed two motion sensors on the surveillance cameras in the lobby had been disconnected.
