Southern comes up short vs Jackson St., 19-14
BATON ROUGE - The Southern Jaguars came up just short Saturday night at home vs Jackson State, 19-14.
The Jags offense had a tough time getting in a rhythm, amassing only 348 total yards on the night; Jackson St. totaled 355 yards.
The game came down to the final play, a fourth down throw from Dray Joseph that came up just short of tight end Bradley Coleman's hands in the end zone to win the game.
Southern also lost the turnover battle 1-0(an interception) and came up short in penalties(58 yards penalized).
The Jags will now go into the bye week with a 2-3(2-1 SWAC) record.
Southern plays Alabama A&M at AW Mumford Stadium in two weeks.
