Southern breaks ground on new baseball fieldhouse
BATON ROUGE - Southern University broke ground today on a new $1.2 million baseball fieldhouse.
It will be located next to the Lee Hines baseball field.
Mayor-President Kip Holden joined SU Chancellor James Lloren, SU Athletic Director William Broussard and SU baseball coach Roger Cador for the ceremony.
The new complex will house locker rooms, offices, and batting cages for the baseball team.
Dr. Broussard says building the facility shows the commitment of the school to the baseball program and should be a strong tool for recruiting.
