BATON ROUGE - Tyler Robinson continues to have a breakout freshman season for the Southern baseball team, as the Jaguars pitcher went 8 2/3 innings to help lift Southern to a 4-3 win over Grambling State on Sunday afternoon.

The Jaguars got home runs from Jose DeLa Toree and Tyler Kirksey as they finished off their first series win of the season in style.

Robinson (1-1) gave up 4 walks and scattered 10 hits, but stayed in control most of the game: he also had a good performance in a no-decision effort against LSU on March 17.

Southern (6-15,5-6 SWAC) will try and build on their 3 game winning streak as they visit  McNeese State on Tuesday.
