Southeastern finishes off sweep of McNeese State with Sunday doubleheader win
HAMMOND - The Southeastern baseball team swept a doubleheader against McNeese State on Sunday, giving the Lions a three game sweep over the Cowboys for the weekend.
In the early game on Sunday, the Lions used a combination of great offense and defense - getting a spectacular catch from Ryan Byers - as Southeastern took game 2 of the series 15-4.
In game 3, the Lions once again jumped out to an early lead and secured the sweep with a 9-2 win.
The Lions also celebrated "Knock Cancer Out of the Park" day, celebrating Paige Hickman, who threw out the first pitch of game 2. The Lions are helping Hickman through her cancer treatment.
The Lions welcome Louisiana-Lafayette to Hammond on Tuesday as they face the Ragin' Cajuns in their next game.
