Southdowns parade to close parts of Stanford Avenue, Perkins Road Friday
Baton Rouge- Portions of Stanford Avenue and Perkins Road in Baton Rouge will be closed due to the Southdowns Mardi Gras Parade Friday evening.
This is in addition to residential streets in the Southdowns neighborhood.
Stanford from Hyacinth Avenue to Perkins Road will be closed from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., while Perkins Road from Acadian Thruway to Valley Street will be closed from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
During the closure, eastbound traffic on Perkins Road will be diverted onto northbound Acadian Thruway, while southbound traffic on Acadian will be diverted onto westbound Perkins.
Westbound traffic on Perkins will be diverted onto northbound Valley Street.
Northbound traffic on Stanford will be stopped at Hyacinth during the closure, but will be allowed to make U-turns to turn around.
