South Carolina's first lady Jenny Sanford filed a divorce complaint Friday, months after her husband publicly confessed an affair with an Argentine woman.

The complain said she's entitled to a divorce on the grounds of adultery because two-term Republican Gov. Mark Sanford "engaged in a sexual relationship with a woman other than the plaintiff."

In a statement Jenny Stanford said: "This came after many unsuccessful efforts at reconciliation."
