The Sorrento Town Council has agreed to consider setting up a camera-equipped trailer to automatically monitor automobile traffic and issue speeding tickets.
The device takes photos of speeding cars from the front so drivers are visible in the images, and the unit could be parked anywhere.
The company that provides the devices is offering one of them free to the town with the aim of decreasing the overall accident rate.
The traffic accident rate in Baker dropped 78 percent within one year of implementing the same type of device.
The council agreed to obtain a draft ordinance from Baker for consideration at a future meeting.
