Sorrento man charged in fatal I-10 crash
LAPLACE - State police are investigating a two car accident on Interstate 10 near LaPlace that claimed the life of an unidentified man.
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday on I-10 just west of Louisiana Highway 3188.
State police say 24-year-old Jacob Sellars of Sorrento lost control of his car, struck the left guard rail, crossed the highway and struck the right guard rail. The car spun several times throwing the passenger out of the vehicle and then struck a second car.
The passenger was killed.
Police say Sellars refused to give troopers any information about his passenger.
Sellars was booked with vehicular homicide, reckless operation, no seat belt and driving with a suspended driver's license.
