We have some sunshine coming out around Baton Rouge, but it will not last very long. The sun is heating us up and that will help to set off scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Some of the storms could become strong with heavy rain and frequent lightning strikes. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s.
The showers and thunderstorms will continue into the even hours before they dissipate around sunset. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
It will be mostly cloudy with spotty showers tonight. The best chance of a shower will be toward daybreak. Low temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
