Some storms, possibly strong

9 months ago Tuesday, June 10, 2014 3:51:48 AM CDT June 10, 2014 Tuesday, June 10 2014 Jun 10, 2014 in Weather

Just about all should find a period of measurable rain today. As a line of showers and storms is expected, this setup will be much different than two weeks ago when scattered activity persisted for multiple days. Still, little sunshine is expected today. The cloudiness and rain cooled air should halt highs in the lower and middle 80s.

Any storms could produce damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted an area from Baton Rouge, along I-12 and North into Mississippi for an increased severe storms threat. The severe risk appears marginal however as morning rain and daylong cloud cover will inhibit instability.

Most of the precipitation will wrap up tonight leaving us with a muggy 70°.
