Thousands of Louisiana residents are eligible to receive grants to pay for hurricane protection improvements to their homes.  The state is mailing out applications to more than 100,000 victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  They can receive storm mitigation grants of up to $7,500.

The forms are going to residents who have already applied for grants from the Road Home program for rebuilding and repairing homes damaged in the storms.
