Snakes in a courthouse
JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI- Snakes slithering into the Hinds County Courthouse pose no threat but they give the workers the creeps. Five have been found in the county circuit clerk's basement office this month. One worker says the largest was as big around as her finger but she didn't stop to measure. The snakes were identified by an expert as brown DeKay's snakes, sometimes called earth snakes. They have soft teeth that may not even break a person's skin. Try telling that to the workers when they saw the first one. One says she screamed "Snake!" and co-workers scattered.
