Wildlife authorities in Georgia will inspect Zoo Atlanta after a venomous rattlesnake escaped and slithered through a neighborhood before being killed by a homeowner. Zoo staff noticed the female tiger rattlesnake missing and blame it on a cage door that wasn't secured. The Georgia Department of Natural Resouces has not decided if the zoo faces any penalties because of the escape.
