Smoker-stealing suspect sought
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies released the name of a man suspected of taking a well-known BBQ pit from a gas station in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Deputies said Friday they had an arrest warrant for 46-year-old Kerry Lacoste in connection with the Dec. 28 theft from David's Tiger Express at 12101 Hooper Road.
The store's owner said the grill was found abandoned at an apartment complex earlier this week, shortly after the sheriff's office released details about the theft to the media. The station said they're known for grilling Friday night steak dinners on the BBQ pit.
The sheriff's office said surveillance video showed someone in a Ford Explorer taking the grill, and investigators later identified that man as Lacoste.
