Smoke-Free EBR to support ordinance filing
BATON ROUGE - Smoke Free East Baton Rouge will hold a press conference to show support for the filing for a smoke-free ordinance for the parish.
Louisiana Legislature passed ACT 815 in 2007, which eliminated smoking in workplaces, public places, and restaurants, however bars and gaming facilities were exempt.
The press conference will be on Wednesday afternoon with at least four confirmed council members to participate, however the council members have not been named yet.
Other speakers are Remi DeMatteo, general manager at The Bulldog, Father Rick Andrus, Henry Turner, Kenny Neal, Michael Foster, Joe Hall, owner of Phil Brady’s, Dr. Jay Brooks, and Edgar Cage of Together Baton Rouge.
The press conference will take place at Baton Rouge City Hall (Plaza Side) at 3 p.m.
