Smash and grab caught on video
GREENWELL SPRINGS - At least three crooks got away with an ATM full of cash Monday morning.
They pulled up to the Frog's One Stop in the 17200 block of Greenwell Springs. A few men, dressed in black clothing with ski masks covering their heads, drove a white van to the frond door. Two individuals shattered the front door with some sort of tool, unraveled a rope and carried it inside.
They were able to secure the rope to the machine and used their van to yank the box of cash out of the store. After two attempts, the ATM came smashing out of the front door, taking down part of a brick wall.
"It looked pretty bad," Jim Perrilloux, the store manager, told WBRZ News 2 in an exclusive interview Monday evening.
"There was trash and the door was out in the middle of the parking lot and there was glass everywhere."
Frog's One Stop was opened for business Monday after the hole in the wall was secured.
