Police say man confessed to jogging naked past boys
SLIDELL - Police in Slidell have arrested a man after they say he admitted to jogging past several young boys while naked.
Officers arrested Drew Rodriquez, 26, of Slidell after two of the boys gave police the license plate number of the car they said the naked jogger was driving, and Rodriquez later confessed to police according to Assistant Chief Kevin Folts.
He said on April 21 three boys were riding their bikes when Rodriquez jogged past them, naked, and asked them a question as he ran alongside them. The boys rode away from the man and then later saw him drive away in a blue Chevy Malibu.
Then on Sunday evening police were called by two of the same boys, who told them they saw the same vehicle leaving a fast-food place and were able to get the license plate number, which Folts said was registered to Rodriquez. They also said it didn't look like the driver had any cloths on.
While on their way to talk to Rodriquez, Folts said they got another call from a parent who said their 15-year-old son and a 13-year-old friend saw a white male jog past naked while they were playing basketball in a driveway.
Folts said when officers met with Rodriquez he admitted to jogging naked past both groups of children. Rodriquez was arrested and booked into the city jail for two counts of obscenity and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, which Folts said stemmed from the question he asked the two boys.
Rodriquez is still in the St. Tammany Parish Jail under a $28,500 bond.
