Investigators said the group, who smoked the fake weed at various locations and not all in one location, were treated at an area hospital. The incident was described as widespread, and occurred over a two-hour time frame.
Deputies said everyone in the small group smoked "Happy 2."
Narcotics detectives are working the case.
At the time of this post, two of the six were released and four remained in the hospital.
"We want everyone to be alert of how dangerous this drug is," a spokesperson with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators don't plan to release new information on this situation until Friday. Check back for updates.
