Singer sued by boat captain
SAVANNAH, GEORGIA- Country singer Billy Currington was sued by a tour boat operator who claims Currington mocked and libeled him on his fan website.
It stems from an incident where Currington chased and threatened 70-year-old Charles Ferrelle after his boat passed Currinton's house on Tybee Island.
Currinton pleaded no contest to a charge of abuse of an elderly person and was sentenced to five years probation.
Ferrelle claims the defamation came two days before Currington made his plea in court.
In the lawsuit, Currington is accused of writing that Ferrelle "ran like a scared rabbit" and that he hallucinated.
