Sibley sentenced for hit-and-run death
GREENSBURG - A state district judge sentenced Livingston Parish School Board President Malcolm Sibley Friday after he pleaded no contest for a deadly hit-and-run wreck last year.
Sibley received a 90-day suspended sentence as well as two years of probation and a $500 fine, plus court costs. He also has to complete four days of community service and a court approved defensive driving course.
Sibley was accused of leaving the scene of a wreck on June 15, 2013 after he hit and killed William Cody Iasigi, 20, of Mississippi.
State Police said Iasigi and two others were stopped, and Iasigi was standing next to his vehicle when Sibley hit it with his pickup.
