Shreveport student arrested for bringing gun to school
SHREVEPORT - A Shreveport high school student is facing charges after taking a handgun on a school campus.
Police tell The Times that the 17-year-old Fair Park High School student was arrested Friday after authorities found a .22 caliber handgun in his backpack.
Authorities took the weapon and arrested the teenager on a charge of carrying a weapon on school property and being in possession of a firearm in a Firearm Free zone.
Police say their investigation into the incident continues.
